This option is designed for students interested in a wide variety of careers that involve contact with French people and organizations here and abroad, communicating French language and culture to Americans, or graduate study in French.

Required courses may be substituted with the approval
of the Advisor in the French Department.
Students may obtain equivalent credits for one or more of the required courses by participating in the University's education abroad programs in Aix, Avignon, Paris, Montpellier, Strasbourg, Brussels, Besançon, Québec, and Sénégal.
Note: Common courses for all major options are FR201, FR202, FR331, FR351, FR352, and one French linguistics course. If you are uncertain which option to choose, begin with the core courses and then make your decision when you see where your interests really lie.
